ATI Moblity Radeon 1400 on Windows 2008: Duplicate Desktop

I have a problem with Windows Server 2008 32 Bit running on DELL Inspiron 6400 With ATI Display Driver X1400.
The driver itself (Vista 32 Bit) seems working, enabling the desktop experience I get full Aero magic with transparency and everything, but ...

One thing that does not work is that for the secondary monitor, it always has to be "extended desktop". There's no way to make it "duplicate desktop". This is required for me for presentations I give when trying a code demo or such, I need to see near to me what the audience see as well.
A note is that the additional tabs that appear normally when going into "Display Settings -> Advanced Settings" are just not there, and no catalyst control panel is there as well (although it shows as startup item). That's why I have no where to set the secondary monitor as duplicate desktop.

Is there a way to enable the duplicate desktop for secondary monitor ?
