hi im new here and i lost all info in my hhd ,i dont have any disc, so im trying to install xp pro sp3 but i cant make it work ,just say no hhd detected, what can i do o look everywhere and just say change sata to ide in bios but my bios dont have that opcion i hope somebody can help me...thanks

How was everything lost? Is the recovery partition still there?

The installer lacks the means to interact with your hdd. You need to integrate the sata drivers to the Win XP installation for it to work, or load them from a floppy (which I doubt is an option for you). This can be easily done with nlite. I can expand on this if it's an option and you need help with it.

If you really got nothing left there and don't have access to another pc, you might have to install Vista+ instead.

you may also want to look into a 2.5-> 3.5 external converter if you're looking to get data recovered, as iplayer said you probly need to hit F6 when it says additional drivers and integrate em.

hi i update bios and now i have the option ti set the hhd in ide mode ,but stiil the same4 problem the hhd is new ,so is empty and i don have any cd im trying to add the driver with nlite but a can find them,.......thanks for u time guys...

Those usually come in the discs provided with the hardware, or you can check acer's support page. You could of also used acer's driver backup feature to get them from the old drive afaik. I'm assuming you got an Acer, since you posted it in here.

Might want to make sure what AHCI controller model you got, and backup or download, any other drivers you could need in advance.

It would be easier and more people, that might be able to help would see it, if you posted in the right section. Also detail what hardware you have beforehand.
