ATi mobility HD2600 freezes and BSOD

Hi

I have a Toshiba A200(PSAE6) with vista ultimate SP1 and ATi mobility HD2600. I installed the drivers from toshiba site, but they are old and freezes my screen frquently. So i changed to the latest catalyst from ATi website and aplied the mobility modder. Is better than before but even so, sometimes Windows just freezes, sometimes the screen starts blinking very fast and turns black, and sometimes it just get BSOD with error STOP "0x0000008E". I know that the issue is the video card, because Windows problem report says that i need to update my video card from windows update or ATi, but i already have the latest updates and the problem keeps...and the PC is out of virus and spyware(i checked).
So i would appreciate some help, if possible.

Thank you

I was getting BSOD with the HP ATI drivers with my tx2500. I hacked the latest Catalyst drivers without using the Mobility Modder -- my card isn't in the supported card list at the moment -- and I no longer have BSOD issues. See my post http://www.hardwareheaven.com/mobility...hd-3200-a.html for more details. Basically, you just want to make sure that your hardware id is listed in the .inf. Maybe installing the driver this way instead of the Mobility Modder way will work better? Just a shot in the dark.

Thanks for your answer. For now my system is getting stabilized, This OEM stuff really sucks. laptop video boards should work like desktop video boards. we are paying for a product and still we have to seek and install other uncertified drivers...
