Probably a stupid question but....

Hi I have just updated my ati mobility radeon x600 driver to the 8.6 ex driver and it shows in device manager that it is updated but in the info bar at the bottom of desktop it is showing 2 different ATI icons. Is that right or did I do something wrong? What do I need to do to fix it?

Here's another stupid question that maybe someone can help me with.
The reason I updated this driver is because someone recommended that for better video editing. What other drivers should I update and where can I do that? Are there others site like this one for that? If I go to device manager and click update driver it says that they have the newest version but that can't be so, my computer is 3 yrs old. (windows xp, media center edition 2005) That's what the ati driver said to but thru this site I was able to update it?.?.?.

Thanks, Jodie

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!

The icons on the taskbar are there because you forgot to uninstall the old drivers first. There might be the old ATI control panel icon and the new Catalyst Control Center icon.
For video editing you should really get desktop PC but you can always look newer drivers for your laptops chipset. I think in general updating video cards drivers won't improve video editing at all.

Since you have laptop you should ask that from the manufacturer of that laptop. But in general you can't and I think that there are no more CPU's that could be installed on that laptop on sale anymore.
