Catalyst Control Center Problem / Vista Ultimate / Mobility Radeon X600 128mb
I installed Catalyst 8.7 today (updating from 7.11) using the Mobility Modder Tool. After the reboot, I tried to access the CCC, and saw a glimpse of the configuration wizard, but before I could even switch to the advanced mode or continue the wizard, the program disappeared from the screen.
I have tried reinstalling Catalyst to no avail, I have even uninstalled all available drivers for it, rebooted into safe mode, and deleted all stray files and registry keys, for an 'as-clean-as-possible' install, once again to no avail. CIM reports that Catalyst installed without a hitch, the install report file declares this as well, but I still cannot access the CCC. UAC is ENABLED, but I ran the original installer file (the one that extracts to c:\ati\support\...etc...), as well as the Mobility Modder Tool, and Setup.exe under an administrative Command Prompt, so all ran with Administrative Privileges... Ran antivirus and antispyware software offline [aka off a bootable windows cd] so that no rootkits can have an effect on the results-- system is clean. anybody know what causes or how to fix this? ====== ==== System Info ====== ==== Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard Model: Pavilion zd8120cl Processor: Intel Pentium 4 W/HyperThreading @ 3.00 GHz System RAM: 2 GiB Storage Space: Irrelevant, but plenty of space available Operating System: Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 User Account Control: Active / Password required for consent Catalyst Version: 8.6 (Mobility Modder Tool Used) GPU: ATi Mobility Radeon X600 GPU RAM: 128 MiB File --> Version (From Device Manager) c:\windows\atiogl.xml --> (Unknown) c:\windows\system32\amdpcom32.dll --> 7.14.10.0008 c:\windows\system32\ati2edxx.dll --> 6.14.10.2513 c:\windows\system32\ati2evxx.dll --> 6.14.10.4177 c:\windows\system32\ati2evxx.exe --> 6.14.10.4021 c:\windows\system32\atiadlxx.dll --> 6.14.10.1007 c:\windows\system32\atibrtmon.exe --> (Unknown) c:\windows\system32\atidemgx.dll --> 2.0.3106.40733 c:\windows\system32\atidxx32.dll --> 7.15.10.0127 c:\windows\system32\atiicdxx.dat --> (Unknown) c:\windows\system32\atioglxx.dll --> 6.14.10.7769 c:\windows\system32\atipdlxx.dll --> 6.14.10.2537 c:\windows\system32\atitmmxx.dll --> 6.10.11.17 c:\windows\system32\atiumdag.dll --> 7.14.10.0597 c:\windows\system32\atiumdva.dat --> (Unknown) c:\windows\system32\atiumdva.dll --> 7.14.10.0193 c:\windows\system32\drivers\ati2erec.dll --> 1.0.0.13 c:\windows\system32\drivers\atikmdag.sys --> 7.01.01.798 c:\windows\system32\drivers\ativcaxx.cpa --> (Unknown) c:\windows\system32\drivers\ativcaxx.vp --> (Unknown) c:\windows\system32\drivers\ativdkxx.vp --> (Unknown) c:\windows\system32\drivers\ativokxx.vp --> (Unknown) c:\windows\system32\drivers\ativpkxx.vp --> (Unknown) c:\windows\system32\drivers\ativvpxx.vp --> (Unknown) c:\windows\system32\oemdspif.dll --> (Unknown) see this pastebin entry for full hardware details... |
