Mobility Radeon hd 3650, 2 diff drivers???

Hi guys

So i bought a brand new laptop yesterday with an hd 3650 installed, and ofc i wanted the latest drivers. anyway, i was told to come here and download the mobility modder and follow the instructions.
So anyway i dled catalysts 8.8 for vista x64 (i am on 64 bit) and did all the modding and installing stuff as asked.
Now, when i check the driver version under device manager and catalyst information center, it shows me: 8.5.x.x

Then when i check the driver version under dxdiag and GPU-Z, they both give me version 7.15.x.x.

idk if this is normal but anyone have this problem before? lol
