can't start a game because of directX and the driver...

Well,I have a lot of problems with my video driver.

Well I used to have ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 driver,and I could start the game and play for about 30 minutes and then the game would crash and my screen would go crazy and tell me to restart my laptop and later it would just say "windows has recovered from serious error".

And now,since I updated my driver to ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 (Omega 3.8.442),I cannot even start the game because it says that I should update my driver or something like that (and it also mentiones DirectX 9.0)

Then,I installed DirectX 9.0 and I still get the same thing!

What should I do?

I have the same Chip try

Radeon Omega Drivers 3.8.252 (Catalyst 6.5)

apparently support for the card only goes up to 6.5
