exclamation No OpenGL Hardware Support On ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 (Vista)

As all of you know how hard it is to find video old video drivers on vista with out blue screens (BSOD) well I found a driver that works I just followled the instructions (This Post Has Been Deleted. - TechNet Forums) and it works with no bluescreens but ONE thing. It has no OpenGL Hardware accelerton. SO can some one edit the cfg. file and make open gl acceration work? please its either BSOD's or no open gl hardware acceration. Please any help is great!!! Hi there!

As far as I know that cards is not supported in Vista at all. So you don't have openGL support at all. Your best choice is to use Windows XP that has the correct driver support.

Actually this video card in vista works as fine as It does in xp. except either you dont get blue screens but no open gl acccelration or bluescreens with open gl acceleration. So Im uust wondeering if someone could mod (or edit that config file) to fore open gl hardware accelration. Direct 3D works perfectley I have direct draw accleration , Direct 3D accelration and AGP texture accelration right now. (do you think when they make the vista omega drivers they will make a driver for this video card? becaus theres lots of people with this card on vista (just google around)

Re: No OpenGL Hardware Support On ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 (Vista)

I did googling around. But the fact is that there is no driver from AMD/ATI for that card under Vista. The generic driver in Vista will work as you said. But you don't have OpenGL support. As far as I know modding the current drivers wont work for that card. And people who are using so old laptop that has 7500 mobility radeon or similar amazes me since the general hardware is so old that even Microsoft don't recommend running Vista on such system.

The laptop doesn't suck. To have a mobility 7500 it was probably made in 2002. It's 6 years old. It's old, it doesn't suck. Next time research a little before you go for the cheap computer, all your fault.

To top that, you want a 6 years old laptop to run Vista...come on!
