Lost my ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
Hey All --
Thanks for taking the time to look at my problem. I posted this question over on the official 'help' forum and have not received a response, so maybe one of you might have a suggestion for me. I attempted to mod the graphics driver on my new Lenovo T500 and have done something wrong. I believe that I followed the instructions, but... Now when I look at the device manager, it only shows the integrated display adapter; the ATI driver no longer shows up. I tried to install the non-modded Catalyst 8.12 driver over the other driver, but that had no effect. I am running Vista Business 64-bit. Any help you can offer, will be appreciated. Thanks, rb Last edited by Zardon; Jan 1, 2009 at 12:14 AM. |

Re: Lost my ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
Zardon --
Thanks for the reply. I was about ready to put in the recovery disks in and start again. Here's what I did. I followed the step-by-step instructions shown on your modtool page. Since I have Vista 64, I did not do anything with MSXML 6.0 and I had already disabled UAC. I followed the links from your Driver Heaven Downloads page and downloaded ATI Catalyst 8.12 for Vista 64 (60.8 mb). I also downloaded the DH Mobility Modder. I ran the downloaded driver from ATI and cancelled the download once the extraction was complete to the specified directory. I then ran the DH Mobility Modder, with it directed at the specified diredtory (C:\ATI\Support). It ran with no detectable problems. Finally, I ran the setup.exe from the specified directory. It took about 4 minutes or so and gave me no error messages. I rebooted my computer and that's when the problems started. Upon reboot, I received a message that an incompatible driver has been shut down. When I look at my device manager and at the Catalyst Control Panel, the ATI Mobility Radeon is gone and only the Intel Integrated driver remains. My Windows experience numbers have dropped accordingly. I am not sure where to go from here. Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year. rb |
