Mobility Radeon 9000: games not full screen

G'day everyone,
This is my first post on this site and have noticed that a lot of problems manage to get solved here... So.

I have a Dell 600m laptop with a Mobility Radeon 9000 (32mb card) cat 6.11, mobility modder('d). 1.4 ghz centrino, 2 gig ram.

I have been playing Counter Strike: Source, happily on this computer for six months. Running at 640 x 480 the vid stress test tells me 110 fps, in game down to about 50 fps.
After i installed the mobility modder driver CS:S runs in a small box window (black borders around the outside). Unless i put the video resolution in game up to 1024 x 768 it wont run full screen, and this is too high a res.
I changed the bios setting to expand the video but no dice.
I also looked for an option in Display settings to fit to screen but there is no monitor option
Too make matters worse my girlfriend fired up Discworld Noir and it also runs in a small box with a black border, and it isnt possible to change the res in this program.
Needless to say she was slightly pissed, so now i am begging, grovelling, to do whatever it takes to get fullscreen back, and also get me back in the good books.

Doubt it'll help, but have you tried reinstalling/updating DirectX?

I uninstalled directx then installed the latest from the website.
Any other ideas?
Thanks again... i just hope i dont have to go back to the old ATI drivers

I didn't notice before, but you said you're on 6.11? 6.12's been out for a while.

Thanks so much for your continuing help!
So i installed cat 6.4 which i understand is the latest for mobile radeon 9000.
Still no good, although i did notice that even after running driver cleaner and cab cleaner. The omega driver is still listed when i try and install the modded mobility radeon 9000 driver.
I searched and deleted everything related to the omega driver but am still having this issue.
I feel like a broken record but... any other ideas?
I really dont want to have to give in and go back to the 5 year old ATI drivers

when i can see that these drivers are making a positive difference.

Dear Mobile Radeon 9000 owners,
I have managed to answer my own question, but talking it out loud through these forums.
Although before i go any furthur... I'd like to thank God, the Academy oh and especially RealityRipple (your a champ).
So, the moral to the story kids?
Read the fine print; Omega driver 3.8.252 is the last one that supports cat. control center 6.5.
After 6.6 cat mobile radeon 9000 is not supported.
Ahhhhhhhhh.
Oh and thanks to driverheaven for the wicked venue, you people's are awesome. Last but not least thanks to all the adoring fans, you know who you are. You rock!
Now back to some (pew pew) 110fps solid in game CS:S and some sweet time with the lady!
See you all again some day, out there...

so what drivers are you using? i have the same problem with 5 year old 9000igp drivers.

ive been looking for solutions to this problem for years now.
