Re: Ati Radeon Mobility x1400 driver issue
You can't use the latest ATI (AMD) catalyst drivers for your X1400. You have three choices.
1) Use the latest drivers provided by your notebook manufacturer. Dell's drivers are old and have issues with new software, such as solidworks. This is not your best option. 2) Use the latest Omega drivers. These are newer than Dell's drivers, and I found them to be more compatable with the software I use. I did however have some video corruption in a few games. 3) Download V8.5 Catalyst drivers from ATI (AMD) and use mobility modder to modify them. I have tried newer drivers (up to 9.1) but they don't seem to work for me. I recommend that you download the drivers and control center as separate installs. Follow the instructions provided for mobility modder and you'll be running drivers that are even newer than the Omega ones. I have been running the Catalyst 8.5 modded drivers on my X1400 (Dell inspiron 9400 / E1705) with no issues. You can find the ATI Catalyst V8.5 drivers here: Previous Catalyst? Drivers for Windows XP Mobility Modder can be found here: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/modtool.php Hope this helps. |

Re: Ati Radeon Mobility x1400 driver issue
I think u use drivers from manufacture of notebook website , then if u r using vista then update the drivers. they are ver 8.5. I successfully use this.
