Mobility HD 3450 is 256 or 512?

Mobility HD 3450 is 256 or 512?
I have this card in my laptop .... Mobility Radeon HD 3450 ... my system recognizes it as 512 ...
But the internet does not find a MR HD 3450 - 512mb... is normal?

That is giving me problems with video, black screens constantly...

It also takes video 1024gb ... so I have 1700gb of video ...
How can I change these values?
I can make it 512?
not to touch the RAM

Sorry for my English

Thank you very much ...

I don't understand the problem...black screens and crashes?

My HD 3450 is 512 MB...that's common afaik. Either that or 256.

What kind of video are you having trouble with?

What kind of computer do you have? (Manufacturer? OEM drivers?)

Have you tried rolling back or updating the drivers?

Have you tried anything?

You can't change how much VRAM your card has...

In the BIOS it may be possible for you to reduce the amount of RAM your card uses...but that's different for many computers, so you'll have to look through the BIOS options yourself for that answer.

How do you know you have 1100+ shared RAM for your video memory? Where are you seeing that number?

Good luck!

I guess he sees that in the same place as where I can see it, in the
"Information Center - Graphics hardware" tab in CCC. In mine I can see that I have 1387MB Hypermemory for my 3650 and 1195 for my HD3200. I can on the other hand not see anywhere that my 3650 has 512MB.

My mistake...

GPU-Z shows 256 MB...Windows shows 512 MB...both dedicated. So, I don't know.

ATI CCC > Graphics Hardware > Memory Size shows 512 here.

So, idk if there is only a 256 or a 512 dedicated VRAM version.

I actually need to know this now, because it appears that my card may be reporting an incorrect about or VRAM, which is causing games to send it information incorrectly and crash applications all the time.

Any sure fire way of finding out how much VRAM I have? Or fixing the problem??

Either 2 things are happening either, your OEM decided yes lets go with 512, or its "sharing" 256 Ram from your actual memory. If GPU-Z is showing 256, its most likely 256, and shares a dedicated 256 from your ram, have you noticed your ram is down 256 MB?

hyper memory as well as DirectX's Shared memory capabilities..

meaning there is 256mb dedicated.. with an additional 256mb of ram dedicated, and then the additional memory allocated for sharing.

It gets quite confusing indeed..

the configuration reguardless shouldn't be giving you a problem...

Highly recommend you contact your laptop manufacturer

Re: Mobility HD 3450 is 256 or 512?

Well, I understand the concept of shared vs dedicated memory quite well, I just think something wierd is going on with my card....

My RAM is at 2.99GB, not bad for XP Pro 32 2x4GB sticks.

The argument for the crashes goes like this: The VRAM is reported incorrectly to the game, which then sends instructions and information to my card faster than it can process it, because it doesn't have the memory that the game is treating it as if it has.

This usually precedes a crash (134 file could not be read/LoadSectorTable failed) or a scene like this:

Close Ressie, except mines a Visiontek HD4870 512MB that thinks it's 1GB.
Theres the problem then.

I wasn't aware that Visionteks were having the same issue... I will pass that onto the Blues..

Essentially, your graphics card (because of the bad bios) thinks it has more ram than it does. So when wow sends information to it, things get garbled, and bad things happen.

The only way to fix this problem, is to reflash the bios with a correct bios. Its a risky thing to do, but it needs to be done. I suggest contacting Visiontek for instructions on how to do it...
