mobility x1700 help

Hi, I'm new here but i've been having problems with my graphics card for awhile now. here are the specs of my computer.
Having the x1700 seems to limit my gaming by quite a bit and its getting annoying. i managed to use the modtool and play mass effect for a little while...then it just stopped functioning. started giving me errors and such. now i am trying to play a game that i was playing just fine before...requiem: bloodymare. now it will fail at startup giving me a "directx graphics system creation error". also now when i put my laptop into standby, it comes back with black and white stripes as the background.

i have tried multiple versions of the drivers using the mod tool to see if it were fixed including the mobility 9.3. nothing seems to work. i would be willing to go back to the original versions but i'm not sure which drivers actually work with my card. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just rolled back my system so i an start playing my old games again...but help would still be appreciated
