First ATI card 3650 HD

Hey everybody,

I received my new studio 1737 laptop yesterday and i wanted to use windows XP so i did, when trying to install ATI drivers i had no success only after running mobility modder i could install the driver.

So now the problem:

When i wanted to test i started left 4 dead and it seems like my FPS was locked at 20 or 30 after a bit of fiddling i noticed that when i turned off AA (it was at 2X) my FPS should shoot up to 80-100 FPS to me this seems not normal.

What could be causing this?

specs:

Windows XP sp3
Catalyst driver 09.4 with mobility modder
ATI mobility radeon HD 3650
