Hi
I'm new to this site. I searched various threads to find an answer, but couldn't find what I wanted. I read that I may need an older version because my system is old. I just want to make sure that I get the right version of the Omega driver for my computer/graphics card combination. I'm using: HP nx7100 laptop Intel M 735 (1.7GHz) processor 1.5 Gb RAM ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 graphics card with 128 mb RAM (Edit) I'm also using Windows XP SP2. I know it's probably really simple, but I want to confirm the version number before messing with my machine. I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks. (Edit) I have searched for advice on this site and others. I found a lot of conflicting information. I read that v3.8.205 might work, so I'm going to give it a try. I'd still like to know: what's the most recent driver version I can use? Last edited by Schplook; Apr 30, 2009 at 11:52 AM. Reason: added questions and information update |

Re: Which Omega driver for Mobility Radeon 9700?
UPDATE:
I installed "Radeon Omega Drivers 3.8.205 (Catalyst 6.1)" from the archive section of the Omega drivers site OmegaDrivers.net - Home of the ATI & NVIDIA Omega Drivers. Archive This seems to work fine and has, incidentally, solved another problem I was having with Open Office . org's "Impress" presentation sofware not displaying anything except the mouse pointer in slideshows. This driver has given me a lot of options and resolution choices. I have had no problems, but it still didn't solve one of my issues that caused me to start messing with my graphics drivers in the first place - I can't view my computer desktop in full widescreen on my Samsung PAVV LCD TV. I would still appreciate any advice on the following question: Can I use a more recent version of the Omega driver? And a new question: How can I get my desktop to display fullscreen on my TV? Edit: I will get the TV model name and number as soon as I can. Last edited by Schplook; May 1, 2009 at 06:29 AM. Reason: added information |
