ATI Mobility Radeon 9100 IGP - Toshiba question
I just installed a new drive in my Toshiba Satellite P35-S6053 laptop.
I hate the bloated stuff that comes on the re-install disc so I attempted to install Windows XP Professional from a retail disc. There were about 4 or 5 devices that I just could not get working using this method. One of them was the graphics system. I then took a plunge and installed Windows 7 RC. Everything is working very well, except the graphics. My MAX resolution is 1024 x 768 and that sux on a 17" wide screen. I KNOW that ATI does not support the 9000/9100 above Windows XP, but, I was hoping for a mod like you have here. A Google search for the above subject brought me to this board, and an old thread using your Modder Tool, but, it does not indicate that it will actually work with my chipset. I then found an older thread where someone was asking about which Catalyst driver would work with the Mod Tool and that card and someone responded 6.11s or 6.5s: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/mobility...r-toshiba.html I was unable to find either of these in your collection of ATI drivers. I can deal with 1024 x 768, but, I would much rather have the 1900 something that I had with XP. I really like W7 and would love for it to work with my system, and it sux that ATI abandons laptop users like they do, and I place blame on Toshiba as well. When we bought this laptop, the 3.5 Ghz speed was unheard of, and this laptop has the absolute BEST wireless antenna I have ever seen in a laptop. I now have 2.0 Gig of RAM and there is LOTS of life left in this laptop. Can anyone steer me in a direction that will mod my graphics system to act normally? I would really appreciate any help that can be given regarding my situation. Thanks so much for this resource. It is such a wealth of information. I just could not find my specific situation using the Search function. Thanks, Glen |

You can consider this request closed.
I got everything working. Took some doing, but, I did get the Radeon 9000 driver loaded and now have 1440 x 900 screen resolution which is perfect. Thanks! |

That's pretty cool actually lol. On being a Mac user not yet but planning on picking up a Macbook this summer. I have used Apple systems over the years.

Re: ATI Mobility Radeon 9100 IGP - Toshiba question
Glad you fixed your problem. Usually one of the best places to find fixes for Windows 7 issues is actually on Microsoft's official Windows 7 RC Support Forum located here Windows 7 Category . They are pretty quick to respond over there. If you give them all the right information, they can come back with a fix for you really fast.
