Catalyst 9.6 drivers - BSOD: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

After installing modded 9.6 drivers on my Asus A6J notebook (running windows xp SP2 with ATI Mobility Radeon X1600) I get this BSOD at the welcome screen. After a bit of searching and trial and error, I discovered that I immediately got a BSOD when I plugged in my network cable (driver clash?).

I'm now running factory default drivers with no BSODs, I've updated network card drivers and tried this a couple times but it's always the same.

Please help, I just want the latest drivers.

Hi there!

For X1600 card I don't recomend to use the newest drivers since they don't have major fixes for the older cards. You would be better with some older driver's I think that the CAT 8.XX series is more suitable for your needs.

are there latest ati cat for m200
i tried other ati cat it does not work on the laptop
