0x8E BSOD after installing catalyst 9.8 modded

Hi Folks,

I have a lenovo thinkpad T400, with an ATI Radeon Mobility HD 3450. I was running with an old lenovo driver, but got sick of it and just updated to the 9.8 catalyst driver via the mobility modder. Now, I just started getting 0x8E errors, which aren't totally repropducable, but often come after resuming, swithcing monitors, etc.

I've had similar issues with ATI drivers in the past on different systems. I was running very stably with the older 8.x catalyst version for a long time. Any idea what I might do to address the issue?
