Overclocking ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530
Hy guys,
I just brought a new laptop HP DV 6-1205ee and it came with a ATI Radeon HD 4530. I want to overclock it as i used to overclock my previous laptop geforce 8400 GS and it gave me huge performance boost. I have no trouble so far with the default clock speeds, all the latest games like re5 and batman-aa work on all settings high at playable speed. I just like to overclock my card to see what true potential i can acheive. I know about the overheating but i have cooling solutions so it is not a problem. But the problem is that i can't overclock at all. I tried tons of utilities and including ati tool, ati tray tools, amd gpu tool, riva tuner and lots of other as well. Neither of them are able to correctly identity my card. They all don't allow me to overclock and show my clock speeds incorrect like 0 and i can't do anything about it. Then i tried GPU-Z and it wasn't able to identity my Graphics card correctly. Here is the image which u all can see urself. ![]() I tried severl different drivers like the Xtreme G and the official old and latest drivers also my stock drivers. Since mobility is not supported i used Mobility Modifier to make them work. But still i got the same issue with all the drivers. Neither of them could overclock or show correctly in GPU-Z. I always do clean install using driver sweeper and clean cleaner and make absolute sure that i don't leave a single file or reg entry. Still after hundreds of install and uninstall the issue still remains and it sucks a lot to have it. I am currently using XG Cat 9.8 drivers since they seem to be the best but i would like to know what is my problem. I would very much like to overclock my graphics card so any help is greatly appreciated. |

Re: Overclocking ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530
So i was finally able to overclock my GPU. Just download the latest AMD GPU tool. I think that the latest version is 0.9.26. It feels great now to overclock it and i tested with a bunch of games like GTA IV and Resident Evil 5 and all of them have nice FPS boost. I also checked GPU-Z regularly to monitor my temperature and it was stable throughout the testing keeping itself between 60 to 65 C.
The highest stable overclock that i was able to achieve was Core 700 MHz and Memory 876 MHz. That's i think pretty good considering the fact that i had default values at 500 and 666 MHz respectively. Also the latest version of GPU-Z now correctly shows all the information. I think that since it was a new card it was recently added to their database that's why most of the programs weren't able to recognize it. |

Re: Overclocking ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530
Try using Ati Tools or Riva Tuner and increase little by little. Make sure to the check temperatures and if there's artifacts.

Re: Overclocking ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530
Riva tunner is not working with mobility card. If you really wont to try, use MSI AfterBurner - it wos working fine with my old GF9100 on msi VR630. But it's realy dengerus, be cerfule.
