Catalyst Control Center missing functions

In accordance with your online help file:
under 3d Settings it states: From the graphics settings tree expand 3D

There is no such setting available within the catalyst control center version 2008.1201.1504.27008. After I downloaded the control center file
(8-12_xp32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_72271) I followed the instructions on modifying my ATI Radeon IGP 340m/345M driver as outlined here (http://www.hardwareheaven.com/modtool.php). after rebooting, I started the control center and reviewed all the settings. I found out that I now do not have any Direct3D devices available, and dxdiag shows DirectDraw, Direct3D and AGP Texture Acceleration as unavailable. (a screensaver, Marine Aquarium 3 ses them). Searching the Catalyst Control Center Help for 3d settings showed me that I do not have any available options within the control center despite the help menu stating they exist.

What I need to know and resolve is this:
1. How do I get my Direct3D functions back.
2. Why doesnt The control center show the functions the help menu states are available?
3. How do I resolve #2?

using:
ati mobility igp 340m/345m graphics driver version 6.14.0010.6891

If no help is available, then I am reverting back to the old files and deleting this program. Please advise.... and please be as specific as possible on the details. It would help to send details to scorpioet2@neo.rr.com
