Hi there,

I see that a lot of people has issues to find drivers for the ATI x1700 and I was one of those person too.

Here is a website I really like because it can look inside your computer, see what drivers you do have and if there is another drivers (newer) it will tell you. Plus it gives you all of the information about you system.

But here is the link to download the drivers for ATI mobility Graphics card for Windows Vista/7/Vista-64/7-64 (see list below) :

To download the drivers just click on the icon under "telechargement" (download), unzip the files and execute the .exe file.

Hi:
I downloaded the file and have a few questions before trying to install it.
It is a beta file. Are you having any problems since you started using it?
Did you clean out all previous drivers before installing it?
Does it automatically install after pressing setup icon?
I am not very technically experienced and purchased this machine so that
my grandchildren can play games when visiting.
My laptop is a ASUS F3Jp.
BIOS AMI 208.
2 Gig of memory.
Windows 7 (64 bit)

Hi Filoux:
My grandsons suggested I give your solution a try. And I did.
It worked exactly as you suggested.
My driver version is 8.593.100.0 and it appears to be a 64 bit program.

I am sorry if I didn't answer to your first post .. I thought I subscribe to the topic but I didn't receive any mail saying that it was a new post in the topic.

I am glad everything works. I do not have any problem with this drivers but I install it just after a new installation of Windows 7. Yes it is a beta version but it is the latest you can find for our video card too.

I posted your solution on the ASUS forum F3Jp thread. I hope some of our fellow
F3Jp owners try it. It appears we are running Catalist Version 9.3.
My grandsons are pleased in that they bring their games with them.

I am making a website and I put this solution on my website Easy4Geek.com to help people too but I didn't have time to put it on all the forum even if Asus was the most appropriate but if I remember I did put it on ati's forum.

I modified my first post because I didn't say it only works on Windows Vista/7/Vista-64/7-64.

Im having trouble installing this driver on Windows 7, does this driver work on Windows 7?
Im using the 9.3 at the moment but im having trouble with certain games, is there a newer driver for the x1700 working on Windows 7?

finally, i got it working. i just used dseo, went into test-mode, signed the .sys file and installed from the .exe , thanks man! :-)

I do absolutely nothing. JUST INSTALL on my Alienware 5790 and it works on first shot also with CCC panel.

Also have question. This driver website also update ATi drivers month after month?

Update for you guys. It is Christmas so I give you the driver 9.11 Bêta. The link will send you on the same website where I found the 9.8 bêta.

I didn't try it yet but there is no reason it doesn't work.

I just installed it and it completely works on my Asus F3JP with my Radeon x1700.

I don't know why, but the driver is downloading very fast and when I'm running it, the error comes out. Error says that the file is damaged. Should I look for this in the internet and download from other site?

I suggest you look at the post by filoux51 dated nov 24, 2009.
I installed his suggestion last December in my ASUS F3Jp laptop
and it has worked perfectly ever since.
I am presently awaiting an answer from him regarding directions
for installing the new 10.6 drivers on an x1700 machine.
