I'm sorry if this has been covered, but I couldn't find anything specific. I have an Asus M51Ta with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3200/3650 hybrid setup. I just upgraded to Windows 7 64 and noticed that my graphics adapter doesn't change back and forth like it used to. Right now I am stuck on the 3200 and I have had no luck with the drivers available from ATI. Asus has nothing for Windows 7 to my knowledge. I have searched and searched and was directed to this site. Is it possible to get my hybrid graphics setup to work properly or will I need to go back to Vista? Thanks in advance for any assistance you guys can provide.

Re: Windows 7 and Mobility HD 3200/3650 hybrid
If not, you could try using just the 3650 and deactivating the other. From the reviews I read in the past, those setups didn't help much with power consumption.

So how would I go about deactivating the 3200? Also, if I do this can I just use the regular driver for desktop radeons?

Re: Windows 7 and Mobility HD 3200/3650 hybrid
See if you can set it up in the bios. Would be great if you could do Hybrid Crossfire instead, but I don't know if any laptops can do it.
Edit: I'm looking for people that got powerxpress to work properly after an upgrade to windows 7. All I found was people that uninstalled drivers and installed latest ones, to just use the discrete adapter. Last edited by iPlayer; Jan 11, 2010 at 02:08 AM. |
