Mobility Radeon X1400 256mb and the loss of my sanity
Okay, I have a Dell Inspiron E1505, Windows XP MCE, Mobility X1300 128mb, T2300 processor @ 1.66, 1.0 gb RAM, BIOS updated to A17. I bought the X1400 for a song. It's the 256 mb version if that matters. Replaced the card and started looking for drivers. As you know, Dell only has one driver from 2006 for both cards. The driver works but I have a screen flicker about every 20 seconds now. Doesn't kick me out of whatever I'm doing but it sure is annoying. If it matters the screen does NOT flicker at the BIOS(F2) screen. I have uninstalled the original ATI driver, used DriverCleaner (great utility!) and reinstalled twice with no change.
On the ATI site I have to enter OS and the card and it gives only one driver option to download, version 9.3. It first checks the system and says my OS or hardware is not compatible and stops the download. There has GOT to be a way to access drivers directly but I'm not seeing it. I'm looking for any help I can get for which driver to try and how to download it so I can try your modding program. The Dell forum is trying to help but you guys are my last hope. In fact the forum is where I heard about you. So thanks in advance for any help and let me know if you need additional info. |

AW: Mobility Radeon X1400 256mb and the loss of my sanity
Mhh first try this
1. Uninstall all drivers+ display driver with the catalyst manager 2. Run that Cleaner Tool (http://sites.google.com/site/windows...attredirects=0) 3. Download 9.9 or 9.12 Catalyst Mod it with the Mobility Modder (you can find it here) Second: Check that your have installed the Card correctly |
