*Updated* x64 Mobility Radeon Driver (v10.1)

Attn Mods: Can a Forum Moderator please rename this thread to "x64 Mobility Radeon Driver (v10.1)". Thanks.

Some of you may have noticed I copied this post from here over at TR Forums. Same content so no matter which guide you follow - they should work.

WARNING: This Driver Is For Testing Purposes Only And Only Made For x64 Windows Vista/7 Computers. It Has Not Been Fully Tested And It Is Provided AS-IS With Absolutely NO WARRANTIES. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Please take note that this only includes the 64-bit Driver for Windows Vista/7 and does NOT include Catalyst 10.1.
If you do want Catalyst you can download it separately here: Drivers & Support | GAME.AMD.COM

  • Support for Integrated Graphics Processors (IGPs) Is Not Included.
Instructions for use:
  • 1.) Download the zip file from RapidShare OR Mediafire and SAVE it to your computer.
  • 2.) Extract the zip file to your desktop or wherever as long as you remember WHERE you saved it.
  • 3.) Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System > Device Manager.
  • 4.) At this Point if you have not installed the driver and/or Windows Vista/7 has not installed the driver for it then it will show up as "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)" or the like under "Other Devices". If that's the case And Windows Vista/7 is not trying to install the driver then right click on the entry and hit "Update Driver Software..." then proceed to step 6 otherwise go to step 5.
  • 5.) If the driver is already installed you can update it by showing your display adapter by clicking on the white triangle beside "Display Adapters". If the triangle is already colored black the "Display Adapters" are already expanded. Under display adapters right click the entry directly below it and hit "Update Driver Software..." and proceed to the next step.
  • 6.) When the update driver window pops up choose "Browse my computer for driver software".
  • 7.) Now at the next step in the wizard choose "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer".
  • 8.) If Windows shows you a list of device groups choose "Display Adapters" and hit next. Otherwise proceed to step 9.
  • 9.) Now click "Have disk..." and a popup will show up. Click "Browse..." then point to "C7_94918.inf" inside the folder to which you extracted "C7_94918-Rel.zip" then click "Open".
  • 10.) Click "Ok" and your device should be listed if it is in the list of supported cards.
  • 11.) After you click the device name that matches yours, click "Next". At this point it will most likely ask you if you would like to install the unsigned driver. Click "Install this driver software anyway".
  • 12.) Now just wait for the driver to install and when the installation is done restart your computer and the newest driver should be installed.
  • 13.) *OPTIONAL* Install Catalyst, it's not necessary but allows you to have control over your power settings for your graphics card etc.
I have tested the driver on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 w/ all the latest patches and an ATi Mobility Radeon HD4650 1GB VRAM Sitting Inside Of An HP Pavilion Dv7-2278CA.
Here is the GPU-Z Validation if you don't believe that it works (not that I wouldn't blame you): techPowerUp GPU-Z Validation.

In case if you run Windows Media Player and notice a red bar running down halfway through the video and have Catalyst installed, click "Graphics" within Catalyst to show a dropdown menu.
From here click "Avivo Video" then click the "All Settings" tab. Scroll down to the bottom then uncheck the "Enable Demo Mode" check box under "Video Demo Mode".

If you already know what to do, here are two mirrors for the driver (you only need to download ONE not both):
RapidShare OR Mediafire

This has been made as an alternative to MobilityModder Version 1.2.1.0 which is still being worked on. (Keep up the good work guys )

Feel free to modify, share and distribute this modified driver - but only if you give it away for free.

Credit: AMD/ATi for the Driver. Modifications done by me, I hope you enjoy it and find it useful.

If you have any questions or comments feel free to post below.
Cheers.
