Black border when changing resolution
Hi!
Inspiron e1705, Radeon Mobility x1400 + modded driver v9.11, Windows7 64bit. After finally fixing the issue with the backlight not turning off when closing the lid (by installing the 9.11 driver) I had a few weeks of blissful performance, until - I was running Visual Jockey SP1 (graphic intense application). Suddenly it crashed to desktop and from then on I can't lower the resolution without black borders appearing around the image! I can only use the native resolution of 1920x1200 and that's a bit small for me... I tried uninstalling the driver (going back to W7 default), reinstalling the 9.11 driver, installing a 10.2 driver - nothing works. Please help - these kind of problems are soooo frustrating! |

Re: Black border when changing resolution

UPDATE: managed to uninstall all ATI related stuff and reinstalled the W7 driver for x1400. Changing resolution now works with no black borders - But, now the backlight problem is back. Doesn't shut off when I close the lid. Any ideas? please... |

Re: Black border when changing resolution
So it's been a while with no issues, until I went back into developing games, and discovered (after a long research) that OpenGL doesn't work.
While researching that problem, I rediscovered my UNANSWERED question, so for posterity's sake, here's my solution:
Result: OpenGL works perfect; Resolution changes are stretched to fit screen; Backlight turns off when closing lid. Everything I wanted and more
