re: ATi Mobility Catalyst 11.5 Display Drivers For Notebooks (09/05/2011)

I'm having trouble finding the latest ATI Catalyst for Win XP (32 bits). Where can I find them? The links that are in the 1st post are also compatible with Win XP?

In AMD/ATI's site I can only find "ATI Catalyst Mobility Display Driver" for 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Vista/7.

I've a Toshiba laptop with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 graphics card and want to update it's drivers, since the ones that Toshiba provides at its support website are completely outdated.

11.2 will not support XP or Vista. Only Win7 is supported.

If you have XP , your best bet is trying out Omega drivers.

re: ATi Mobility Catalyst 11.5 Display Drivers For Notebooks (09/05/2011)

hello everyone i am interested in using these drivers. In the title of the post it states, that these drivers are for Toshiba, Sony, and hp laptops. However in the description of your post you say that these drivers are from the ati website. which means that these drivers are not moded specifically for our laptops and don't have the key modifications that our manufacturers create for our original drivers. Therefore, if i decide to install these drivers I run the risk of destroying my graphics card because the drivers that are provided for my make do not have the heat protection modification that my manufacturer provides on there laptop drivers. Am i correct in my assumption. or are the drivers modified for each brand that includes each manufacturers protection?.

re: ATi Mobility Catalyst 11.5 Display Drivers For Notebooks (09/05/2011)

Well, it's trial and error, honestly...

They should be compatible , as the filenames suggest (mobility_vista_win7_32_dd_ccc).

I say, backup your system (just to be safe) and try out the driver.
Make sure you do both System Restore Point -AND- Windows Backup Image (or Acronis/Norton Ghost etc.).

Also, before you install - use the driver cleaning method I posted in the first post.

Run a few stability tests just to make sure.
PassMark BurnInTest is a good option:
PassMark BurnInTest software - PC Reliability and Load Testing

Good luck!
And please post back here and let us know if it works for you.

re: ATi Mobility Catalyst 11.5 Display Drivers For Notebooks (09/05/2011)

Did you clean the previous drivers properly, before installing 11.3 ?
I suggest you uninstall all ATi software from your computer, then do a Driver Sweeper clean, and also CCleaner scan. Run these two apps in safe mode.

Also, make sure you have .NET framework installed .

And if you're using a security/firewall app - make sure it's not blocking the CCC.EXE file.

re: ATi Mobility Catalyst 11.5 Display Drivers For Notebooks (09/05/2011)

hello,

I have uninstalled the Ati software,
and used driver sweeper. In normal mode and safe mode.
I have not used ccleaner.

I have checked AVG, but that is not blocking.

Try installing .NET framework 3.5 SP1 , and also the newer 4.0 version.

Microsoft Download Center: Search Results

Do you get any error when opening the control center?

re: ATi Mobility Catalyst 11.5 Display Drivers For Notebooks (09/05/2011)

Tried installing these but ran into a snag on Driver Sweeper... for some reason I can't get into safemode. I restart, press F8, choose to start in safe mode, watch as it boots... then get a black screen with a mouse cursor... the cursor can be moved but nothing else appears, then a few moments later my machine restarts.

I attempted trying out installing the driver anyway out of vague hope but no joy. The driver installs but my computer refuses to use it. Device manager tells me "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

Which is annoying. I thought I'd finally found a solution to my driver woes and have now discovered I seem to have a seperate, and possibly far more serious, issue to deal with.

My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5945G with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570 and i'm on Vista 32.

re: ATi Mobility Catalyst 11.5 Display Drivers For Notebooks (09/05/2011)

Safe Mode problem fixed.
Drvier Sweeper run.
...new drivers still won't work.

Same problem as before. It installs them then tells me the device has reported an error and has been disabled.
Same thing happens if I try to install them directly via device manager.

re: ATi Mobility Catalyst 11.5 Display Drivers For Notebooks (09/05/2011)

I'm afraid the only way to do this properly, is a clean install of your operating system (preferably Windows 7) ...

I will try to help you though..
Did you install Intel INF drivers for your chipset ?
If not, I suggest you uninstall all drivers yet again, and install the INF driver from here :
http://downloadmirror.intel.com/1959...inst_autol.exe
After install, reboot your computer and try to install 11.3 drivers again.

You should also run Windows Update, get the latest service pack and all the other updates.

I have a problem with Battlefield Bad Company 2 and the 11.3 drivers. Apparently the only way to solve it is to go back to 11.2. Do you have a link to the 11.2 driver?

Thanks

For tommietom, read this : Mobility 2600 HD Catalyst 9.9?

For ati hd 2600, and Vista or Win7, use Ati Catalyst mainboard 9.8 driver, and moddem them with catalyst mobility tool.

re: ATi Mobility Catalyst 11.5 Display Drivers For Notebooks (09/05/2011)

Read the first post and follow the instructions.

Your GPU is obviously supported under 11.4 drivers - It's just that HP decided to block the ATi installer.

Try it and post back results.

Sad re: ATi Mobility Catalyst 11.5 Display Drivers For Notebooks (09/05/2011)

I've been having this same problem as well.. I'm using this Asus notebook A42JA-VX061V. Its gfx cards is Ati radeon HD 5730 which it supposely to be supported by this new catalyst 11.4. I've triad and tried installing this driver but the damm notebook keep refusing to accept the latest ATI display driver. It only install the latest CCC,opencl, microsoft visual C++,control install manager,etc..<-----(like hell i care about those)and left out the display driver. it keep saying my notebook already got the latest display driver but i damm hell well know its not coz the version was 8.752.0.0000 and this number was there ever since past 6months i bought this notebook..i've tried the method you've listed in first post and its not working.. notebook just keep refuse to accept its display driver is OUTDATED!!! .. i really wanna bash it up..

if you can advice i'd be really greatful.

thx

re: ATi Mobility Catalyst 11.5 Display Drivers For Notebooks (09/05/2011)

if it still shows 8.752 after you install 11.4 , it means you didn't succeed in cleaning the old drivers.

Follow this procedure :

1. Go to Control Panel (Add/Remove) and uninstall ATI Catalyst Install Manager.
2. Reboot.
3. Run Driver Sweeper and clean ATI drivers. Also run CCleaner and clean both files and registry entries (All of them).
4. Reboot in Safe Mode.
5. Re-run Driver Sweeper and CCleaner . Scan again and delete all entries that show up.
6. Go to My Computer. From the following locations, search and delete any files containing "ATI" in their name:
Quote:
C:\Program Files (x86)\
C:\Program Files\ATI
C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository
C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies
C:\Windows\System32\drivers
C:\Windows\System32\drivers
7. In the Start Menu search bar, run Services.msc . Stop and disable the service called 'AMD External Events Utility".
8. Go to Start Menu again and run CMD.EXE as administrator (right click it and choose this option). Then type this in command prompt:
Quote:
sc delete "AMD External Events Utility"
In response, you should get a DeleteService SUCCESS message. This command will also force-delete atiesrxx.exe that both Driver Sweeper and CCleaner were unable to delete.
9. Run CCleaner and Driver Sweeper again, just to make sure atiesrxx.exe and AMD External Events Utlity service are gone. You could also go to services.msc again and make sure that the above service is not listed anymore.
10. Now Reboot and try to install 11.4 drivers again, by using the link in the first post.

Please post back results, I really hope this will work for you... Otherwise my only suggestion in this case is a clean install of Windows 7 (after formatting the disk completely).

Good luck !
