Greetings all. Please be forewarned this is all over an ancient system [Asus A7V with a 900 MHz Athlon] ... for which I just bought a new Radeon Mobility 7500 as an upgrade.
I bought a "Powered By ATI" Radeon 7500 with 128 MB of Video RAM from an EBay vendor ... and after downloading "Catalyst 6-11-pre-r300_xp-2k_dd_ccc_wdm_38185" from AMD/ATI, which is what you will get from them if you specify "Radeon 7500" on Windows XP ... and then modding it with "Mobility Modder" ...
I am using Catalyst now with all of its control features. However, even though my Asus
mobo BIOS indicates that I have selected an AGP speed of 4X with Fast Write enabled ... the SmartGart utility says the maximum bus speed is only 2X.
Which is right ... and how can I get SmartGart to "tell me" that the card is operating at 4X AGP?
