Re: amilo a1630 w7 sp1 help me

Well it's a very old GPU..

Either keep the default microsoft drivers, or try the ATi legacy drivers here:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownloa...3&lang=English

If they won't install, load the driver manually via device manager.

As for the windows update error, you can also try to load the driver manually and see if it works for you.

Also, there was a similar thread with a few solutions. Look here:
ATI Mobility Radeon 9600/9700 Drivers & Windows 7??

Re: amilo a1630 w7 sp1 help me

The 10.2 legacy drivers are not WDDM 1.1 compatible, so you won't be able to use Aero Peek etc.

Radeon 9700 is not WDDM 1.1 compatible by hardware at all. The microsoft driver emulates support for this by software..

If you insist on using Aero Peek, you can try this driver from Microsoft :
beta_w7-32_8-56-1-081203a-72489.exe

But if I were you, I'd stick with the 10.2 legacy. It looks like your problem is not the graphics drivers, but the motherboard drivers (chipset, AGP/PCI bridge etc.).
Your system (A1630) is based on a SIS chipset , and there are no motherboard drivers (INF,chipset drivers) available since SIS won't support Windows 7 !

Re: amilo a1630 w7 sp1 help me

As I said, this is probably because SIS does not support Windows 7 and does not provide any chipset drivers...

You should try to find different versions of the Microsoft drivers (not by ATI) and install them until you find one that works for you.

Maybe you could also try to install the drivers manually, without running setup.
Try to do this for the Microsoft drivers I posted above, via device manager.

This is all I have in mind.. Hope you do find the solution eventually..

In bocca al lupo!

Re: amilo a1630 w7 sp1 help me

The Win 7 SP1 corrupts the SIS AGP Accelerator which caused your problem. Reinstall the SIS AGP Accelerator driver. I believe the current version is 7.2.0.1170 and is available at numerous sites.

Re: amilo a1630 w7 sp1 help me

If the driver suggest by pisaller supports Windows 7, you may have a chance here after all...
Try the driver and then install the Microsoft drivers (you can also try windows update for the latest version).

I suggest you clean the previous drivers first. Use the driver cleaning method in my thread :

Good luck !

Re: amilo a1630 w7 sp1 help me

It should work. I had the same problem after the Win 7 SP1 install. The ATI drivers failed to respond due to the corrupted SIS AGP driver (which is supported in Win 7). After reinstall of the SIS AGP driver, the ATI drivers were functional again.
