ati mobbility hd 5650 issue

hi there people.

Well i bought Dell inspirion n 5010 i5 core, 4gb ram, ati mobillity hd 5650 card.

in every game i have a bad working game with a low fps i feel this laptop isnt working good and i think that graphic card is a reason.

i updatead it with drivers on dell page ( those are from 1.6. 2010. ), tried to install it from ati page but card doesnt recognize that drivers. i think that drivers are main reason that games doesnt work like it suppose to.

any one can tell how can i solve this or any drivers can help this problem.

is there any way to put new drivers or another that will be ok?

Plz need help with this. thx

Could be power saving issues..

Test it with the notebook plugged in (not on battery!) , and set power plan to High Performance instead of Balanced/Power Saving.

Also, try to see if there are any running processes with excessive CPU/RAM/HDD activity.

If the issue persists, I'd suggest a clean install of windows 7.

Re: ati mobbility hd 5650 issue

mobility 5650 is one on the best mainstream GPU's for notebooks... It will play ANY game.

Maybe it's just you, playing with the game settings etc.

Run a few benchmarks, use this review for reference.

Re: ati mobbility hd 5650 issue

Run the same benchmarks/games as in the review I posted, and see if you get the same results.

Don't know what's wrong.. Try to install all the dell drivers again, not only the ati ones - Intel chipset etc.

Re: ati mobbility hd 5650 issue

I dropped more memory and up'ed my virtual memory way up there. Of course turned all the crap that makes windows slow and F disked my computer and started over. I have a I7 HP with a "lovely" HD 5650 and mine was s k i pp i n g and over heating and I couldn't figure it out. After pulling the gun out of my mouth I thought maybe IT WAS THE F'ing packaged drivers I installed....walla!!! I didn't want to do it either... Sometimes it helps to start over before you smash the GD thing...again..

Re: ati mobbility hd 5650 issue

Is the issue now resolved? If so, how did you fix it ?
Also, which packaged drivers are you referring to? The ATI mobility ?
