Why does my Laptop play games it shouldn't?

I've got an old Compaq Evo N160, 1ghz P3, 384mb ram and ATI Radeon Mobility M6 8mb which I think is a Radeon 7000. The weird thing is the games I've tried according to the minimun sys requirements for the game the vram is far too low. For example I installed a demo of Unreal Tournament 2004 which according to the website needs 64mb of video ram. But my little Radeon Mobility using the newest cats runs it great. Although the graphics aren't groundbreaking stuff. Any ideas why? Also will I get better performance or image quality using Omegas, DNA, ect?

You simply cannont compare Consoles and PC games...

And Zardon, you know, GT4 on the PS2 in HDTV mode runs great and it is not 640x480... I think... I don't know much but all I know is that GT4 doesn't show the pixels as much on HDTV mode
