Anyone wanna help testing the new Modtool?

So as the thread title reads, who's willing to help me testing the new modtool?

What's different?

- Added a few new cards
- no more picking your card from the list, there all there
- Might fix the OpenGl problems some are having (that's why I need testers)

That's about all I can think of right now.

I'm also gonna need some how is capable of creating a graphical masterpiece that i'll be using as the background.

so if you are interested, post a message or send me a PM and i'll get in touch with you.

I will however be gone from wednesday (1st June) till the week after just so you know why i won't reply in during that period.

Using the official catalyst 5.5

modtool2.2
CSSVST:
63.62fps, 63.44fps, 62.89fps (don't know why that one was slower)
3DMark2003:
3626

modtoolbeta
CSSVST:
63.30fps, 63.76fps, 63.43fps
3DMark2003:
3621

really not much difference at all between the modtools. the beta is much easier to use.

just some interesting things I noticed:

1. modtool 2.2 detects my card as a "Mobility Radeon 9700" whereas the beta says "Mobility Radeon 9600/9700 series" but that's really just cosmetic

2. modtool 2.2 installs drivers with all the refresh rates unhidden, and the hide check box greyed out. modtool beta installs drivers with refreshrates hidden but unlockable by unchecking the hide box.

3. both drivers are missing the WMV acceleration check box in Options in the CP, unlike the dhzp and omega drivers.

waiting for cat 5.6...

Not so sure about the FireGL fix, hoping some can shed some light ...

@TheGave, thanks for your help, i'll have a look at that WMV accel. checkbox, shouldn't be to hard.

I would love to test the new mod tool.
Any idea if it will work with the x64 drivers?
2.2 didn't seem to, I can give the exact error when I get home.

Patje, 5.6 will show the wmv box by default now so you shouldn't have to worry about it, mind shooting me over the beta? I could use it for the DHzp drivers with credit of course

Hello, I would like to give the new mod tool a try, I'm new to these forums, but I do mess around much with drivers for my MR9700-256MB. I'm mainly interested in OpenGL performance, as I do a lot of SolidWorks design with my laptop.

PS. I'm allready running 5.6 right now, but I'd like test the differences between my modded driver and the driver modded by your tool.

Anthroplasm is on a distinguished road

Could you please create a modtool that converts x64 Catalyst driver for mobility installation?

I modified the .inf file and got it to install 'okay' on WinXP64 with OpenGL functionality. However, whatever changes I made to the .inf file prevented the ATi DVD decoder from installing (it says ATi hardware not found). I do have the Catalyst Software installer CD (200+DVD) to start ATi DVD decoder installation.

When I was running WinXP Pro, your modtool allowed ATi DVD installer to detect Mobility 9600 and I was able to install ATi DVD decoder properly.
