Wellers is on a distinguished road

I've got pretty much exactly the same specs and am having a different problem. Whilst graphics seem to be working alright for games (although all I have to judge that on is a demo of Cossacks 2 cos laptops aren't good for the gaming) ever since I updated to the 5.5 modded catalyst drivers I can't get DVD playback. Every time I run a DVD it locks up in WinDVD and in Windows Media Player I get an error telling me there is something wrong with my video card.

I notice that the clock speed is being changed from 350mhz to 400mhz by the newer drivers and I'm guessing this is probably where the problem lies?

Should I only update the drivers so far and then stop? If so, what version of drivers would anyone recommend...

(sorry to hijack your thread flem but it's the same topic innit)

No Probs Wellers.

In short dont buy a compaq the aftersales support they offer is crap at best. Why can compaq not release up to date drivers every couple of months there last driver was released in June 2004 FFS.
