Help! IGP 320M
My laptop specs are Compaq Presario 2100 with IGP 320M, 768MB RAM and an Athlon XP2500+.
As I mentioned in another post my dvd playback had stopped so I used the driver cleaner but now I can't install anything. The adapter which is here at the moment is called VgaSave but I can't do anything with it. I can't install anything - no modded catalyst drivers, no original HP drivers, no nothing. It says 'this display driver is not compatible with the display adapter(s) installed in your system' Where do I go and what do I do from here? Any help gratefully received. Thanks |

first you should try reinstalling your chipset drivers.
if that doesnt work press f8 during bootup and choose VGA mode then try installing display drivers. |

so the suggestion worked then?
"Every time I run a DVD it locks up in WinDVD and in Windows Media Player I get an error telling me there is something wrong with my video card." by lockup you mean windvd freezes or your computer crashes? could you say the exact error message? |

Hey, I had the same problem. Disable Overlay (video acceleration or something like that) in your Players and it will work. It's something wrong with the drivers not beeing fully compatible...ATI should make new drivers originally for mobile graphic cards (as far as I know, they're doing something about that, so we should have patience).

In Windows Media Player the error is as follows:
'Windows Media Player cannot play the video because there is a problem with your video card' and offers me http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...x?&id=C00D10BD to try and resolve it. In WinDVD the whole computer locks up. I can sometimes manage to end task and recover the system but mostly I get a lockup followed 30 seconds to a minute later by a beep and a total system lock. I've tried looking for the overlay options but the hardware settings are disabled already so I can't see anything else to turn off. It's almost as though the motherboard is overheating and that's clobbering everything cos the clock speed of the card is 400Mhz with the new drivers where it was 350Mhz. |

mpc can play vob files fine as long as you have an mpeg2 decoder installed. |
