How to extend display on ATI mobility radeon 9600?
Hi,
I have a HP nc8000 with an ATI mobility radeon 9600 card. Through a port replicator I have connected a hp1702 TFT. I would like to create a dual monitor or extended desktop system. The thing is, that I can't do that. I assume I need some additional driver or software. Installing hydravision didn't help apart from offering virtual desktops, which is not really what I need. Here's my driver: [img=http://img156.echo.cx/img156/5738/driver7vf.th.jpg] In the display properties I should see two displays, but this is not the case. See screenshot: [img=http://img85.echo.cx/img85/6920/displayproperties5lh.th.jpg] In the display properties, settings, advanced, displays, I can only select whether the monitor or the panel is the primary, while other defaults to be the clone. Like this: [img=http://img256.echo.cx/img256/3253/advanced0es.th.jpg] I have googled all afternoon, and some forum discussions talk about a checking the extended screen checkbox - I have no such checkbox. Which driver should I install? ATI webpage directs me to the nnotebook manufacturers site for mobility driver dowbloads, and in the nc8000 driver section on hp.com there's not many things to choose from - and with those I can't have it working. Tell me that it's not because of the different native resolutions. (Panel 1024x768, TFT 1280x1024) Could you please help me? thx Andras |
