9700 and weird blank screen issue when using omega drivers

last night i decided to update the drivers for my laptop and came across a weird error...
after i installed the omega 5.6's everytime i try to use directx i get a blank screen... i thought this may have been the game stuffing up, so i ran dxdiag and did the direct3d test and the same thing happened... but if i reinstall my old drivers it runs fine.
does anyone have any ideas how to fix this, as i need the cat 5.6's.

I'm running a Acer Ferrari 3400
(3gig athlon 64, 512mb ram, 9700 mobility)

I had the same issue with the latest Omega drivers on my Ferrarri 3200.. so out of curiosity I tried the driver modder and the normal 5.6 cats... same issue with them too..after that I just switched back to the previous version of the Omega drivers..

Curiously though I can run the x64 bit edition 5.6 Cat with the use of Patje driver beta driver modder on the same laptop without any issues in DirectX games... so its likely something just in the 32bit version only...

x64 bit edition???
does that require the 64bit xp installed???

yes it does.. I have both 32 and x64 setup in a dual boot config on my Ferrari 3200.

hmm i am using the latest omega drivers and went through all the tests just fine using a MR9700 128meg maybe u should double check u have cleaned out all old drivers and cabs and reinstall drivers again after a fresh download.

Did that to begin with.. its not really a HUGE deal for me since I am only keeping 32bit windows on the machine because of the lack of printer drivers worth a damn in 64 anyways

Hi Guys,

I found I way to solve the problem related to the new Omega Drivers and the black screen (colored mix them black) and the Ferrari 3400 (maybe 3200 to?) when start a game.

First, you need to know that is a refresh/resolution issue. To play the games you need to do this:

-Start the game;

-Oh no...the screen is colored mix them goes black

;

-Press Fn+F5 one time;

-Press Fn+F5 another time (Now the screen was turned off);

-Pres Fn+F5 again;

-Ok….play the game

That is folks. We can’t have the driver 100% functional, but we can use this trick to use new Omegas until the final solution come.
