Mobility Radeon X700 Problem
Hi,
I have a problem with my ATi Mobility Radeon X700 on my Acer Aspire 5022WMLi. With Acers default driver I have a lot of green pixels anywhere on the screen. The most on the desktop background. They are always on different places. Acers support service said that this could be a hardware problem, but with the WinXP default driver I hadnt this problem, so I think it is a software problem. I tried to install the Omega drivers, but the installation said, that the device is not supported. thanks for help |

Default driver does not stress hardware, as it basically lacks any serious video support, and is there mostly for troubleshooting purposes.
IT sure sounds like Acer is right on this one, and it may be defective hardware, whether it is running too hot, or something else is wrong (dots/pixels sound like x700 core issue). Did Acer offer to do anything about it? Replacement/warranty repair? Have you tried installing stock Catalyst drivers? DH Mobility Moddershould let you install them without any issues.

I think the new cat 5.7's have native support for Mobility x700 cards, you might want to give that a try.
