continuous loop with Omega Drivers and Mobility Radeon 9200

Hi,

I installed the latest Omega Drivers 2.6.42 for my Sony Vaio VGN-A215Z (1,7 GH Centrino + 512 MB + ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 + WinXP Home), because Battlefield 2 failed to start with my original drivers. (latest available version is 6.14.10.6458, date: 10.07.2004)

After that BF2 works fine. Additionally I can use the Antialiasing-Feature with my Video-Cart now. (For example in GTA San Andreas or NFS Underground 2)

The big problem is:
Sometimes the computer crashes in Windows (Desktop-Mode) while normal work or do nothing. With VPU Recovery on, the Desktop freezes and change color (random colors with a strange pattern ) until I shut down the system. (hard way) With VPU Recovery off, the Desktop freezes for a few seconds. Than the blue-screen follows with the message:

ati2cqag.dll runs into a continuous loop.

ATI Rev3 buffer
Bucket = ATI_MC_CP
Probably caused by : ati2cqag.dll ( ati2cqag!CMMQS_GetProcAddress+6249 )

I don't know, what I can do.
Hope you can help me.

Thank you in advance.

Bye
Thomas

System Specs

Welcome to DriverHeaven

Here is what you need to do first.

1. Uninstall whatever driver you are using
2. Install DriverCleaner Pro and update it using in-application update feature
3. Download latest Catalysts or Omega drivers.
3a. If you downloaded Catalysts from ATI, also get DH ModTool and modify the drivers to install on mobility Radeon 9200.
4. Reboot in safe mode
5. Run DriverCleaner and clean everything ATI, except ATI IGP stuff
6. Reboot into normal mode, and install the drivers you got in 3.

See if the problem persists.

Thankz,

now it works great with the Catalyst 5.7 WinXP and the Driverheaven Mobility Modder V2.2. Also without doing these 6 steps. A simple DriverUpdate by starting the Catalyst Setup does the same.

Bye
