No, no they don't. At least not on X1000's or any HP/Compaq of that line or simialr age. That guy was posting those drivers over and over on the X1000's forums website and not once did they work, even though he posted they had been tested. Later he revoked that comment and ammended that the drivers were tested on a single Acer and not widely tested.
Still the latest I have tested myself that work are based off the Catalyst 5.6, Omega or whatever. Also, that does nothing for framerate increase or newer 3d capabilities. It converts your faster but not as stable Radeon to read as a slower stable FireGL. Nice for AutoCAD, poor for games. |

Guys,
I read a little into the posts of this thread and saw someone mention a problem where there was a scrambled screen. Even though I have the Radeon 9700, i had the same problem. I finally found a solution, which is explained more in my other thread. You might want to check it out. Read the posts to understand what the problem was and follow the link to see the solution that worked for me. It could be the same thing dealing with resolutions and refresh rates.. Hope it might help. http://www.hardwareheaven.com/mobility-radeon-drivers-support/109844-9700-new-catalyst-issues-help-would-appreciated.html |

Hello:
I would recommend installing the most up-to-date OEM drivers on your notebooks first, and once the LCD is recognized in Device Manager, you should be able to "manually" update to another driver, modded or otherwise, and it should keep your current LCD configuration. To manually update, you would do it through Device manager, and right-click the display controller, and select update driver. Going through the "Install from specific location (advanced) and thand click on "Don't search, i will choose from a list" and than click Browse to locate the drivers you want to update to. However it is also possible a BIOS update may be needed as well. Good luck, and take care |

Any word on how to fix the blanc screen problem with the omega drivers?
The Radeon Omega Drivers 3.8.273 (Catalyst 6.7) just released, are also Fubar. I guess 5.6 is the last stable release then? Presario x1200 Mobility Radeon 9200 64meg WinXP SP2 |
