ATI Tray Tools and HL2

Hi, I have an hp Pavillion ZD8080ea that has a x600 mobility, I just installed the new omega drivers 5.9 Catalyst, having played all day on these with games like area51, brothers in arms, I have had no problems except low frame rates which is odd, I'm getting less then 35fps, however when I try to play HL2 the game loads to the main menu ok, but when trying to load the game it hangs halfway, if I turn off ATI Tray Tools and cancel Ati2xx.exe the game runs fine, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling omega drivers and ATT, leaving all settins on default I still cannot run HL2, "what Gives?" I tried creating profiles also but this caused HL2 to hang before loading the main menu, Please help!!!

Turns out is the firewall stopping it, if I turn off my firewall it works fine, tried adding all steam and HL1-2 exe's to the firewall exeptions, but this has not solved the problem, so I guess I will have to just get hacked wilst playing HL2, until i find a fix
