Can't get Catalyst 5.9 to work

Hopefully this hasn't already been asked.

I have been using the DMOD tool for the last year without a problem.

I downloaded v3 and ran the program as usual and per instructions with the 5.9 catalyst for desktop (per instructions)

I am getting all sort of errors and did system restore before writing down the problem.

I got a message that went something like: Missing atig.dll and wanted a directory to find it.

when I cancelled the installation, I had all sorts of fatal errors on my desktop so I did a system restore.

I have a Sager 8890 with an ATI 9600 mobile video card.

I've never had an issue using the dmod tool and know it's probably something I am doing.

Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried just using the mobility drivers from ATI? Sager laptops tend to be rebadged Clevos, and Clevo are in the supported manufacturer list, come to think of it so are Sager.
