WoW + 9700 Radeon Mobility = Pain

2.8 ghz P4
512 400 DDR
9700 radeon mobility with 128
Catalyst Mobility Drivers (The new ones)
I"m not really sure, but before I could play WoW quite well off the mobility, I just modded it with the current catalysts ( 5 months ago). Now it seems I can't get a decent fps, it will start at about 60 fps (settings very low with 1280 x 800, even 800 x 600 is no better), then decrease over 10 seconds to hit a shallow low of around 10-20! Anyone have a good driver combo with the 9700 or should I get older drivers, if so, anyone know? Any help would be nice.
