Need help with Radeon igp 340m. My laptop is crashing.

Hello,
My laptop recently started to crash quite often. While I am in the middle of something, it randomly shows a blue screen, which stays up for about 1-2 seconds, and then it shuts down and restarts on its own. When Windows reboots, I get an error message. I forgot exactly what it says, but it has to do with my graphics driver. It suggests that I either update my drivers or buy a new card. Well, I've been looking for some drivers for the igp 340m and I have not had any luck. If anyone could help me resolve this issue I would really appreciate it. If you couldn't tell, I'm not very pc savvy so if you could explain step by step that would be great. Thanks!
Ebass

Sorry you've got this problem ebass81, and welcome to the DriverHeaven forums...

Does this happen when you're running 3D games, or just browsing the net, or watching videos, other apps, or all those things? You said it was random, but just checking...

As the most reliable check of your driver software, I would recommend reinstalling the latest manufacturer's driver available here:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...tem=hb-21505-1

Performing this step should eliminate the video driver as a possible problem - it may fix the problem if it has become corrupted somehow. If this doesn't take care of things, we can look elsewhere...

I downloaded and installed the driver. When I restarted my pc I got the same error as before:

STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER
STOP: 0x100000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER_M

Anything running in the backround indicated by icons in the lower right (by default) of your taskbar? Shut them all down - or disable them - and see if the problem goes away.
