Mobile 7500

So I downloaded and installed the latest Omega driver pack. Once I began to install everything seem's to have loaded fine. After I reboot, the system found new hardware and started to install the drivers, now a dialog pops up and states that some drivers were not found, so then I had to search my system for the drivers stated, I believe around 8 files were undetected from the setup.

Also, two other issues arose after this.
1. On every reboot the settings reset back to 16bit graphics and I have to manually change it to 24bit.
2. When ever I refresh my desktop my saved icon settings reset and the icons are sorted on the left had column of the desktop (not personalized anymore).

I am running:
Thinkpad T30
Windows XP SP2
Intel P4 1.8Ghz
Radeon Mobile 7500 16mb

Everything was fine up to the point of installing these drivers... Any suggestions?

My first suspiscions are one of two things - or both...

Did you do a complete uninstall of the previous driver and control panel? What driver were you using previously? Looks like the installer is confused - looking for files in the wrong places on your hard drive...

There's also a slim possibility that you got a corrupt download...

The drivers previously installed are the pre-configured IBM distribution and were removed. No CC Panel. The drivers were removed using ATI's driver removal tools, never had problems in the past.

With the card detecting specific drivers none were found on the Omega set, which I searched for and manually attempted to install the drivers. I do not know exactly what drivers it was detecting as I upgraded to this a few days ago, but whatever it was looking for the Omega set did not have them However, I may uninstall / reinstall again to see if I get the drivers that I am speaking about, most that I recall is ati[xxxx].dll or .sys

I am not sure how I may have downloaded a corrupt install, if it was corrupt, the chances of a crc check sum error will more than likely display.

hmmm this site is slow today
