9700 tv-out

okey I have googled for days searching answers..

the problem: acer laptop with radeon 9700 mobility. tv-out: s-video, 7 pin.

I can't get no picture, actually the laptop can not 'feel' the tv when i'm using a cable with 7 pins. s-video -> converter -> composite? -> scartconverter -> tv.
With a 4 pins minidin cable everything works but the picture is black and white.
I tried the same cable-solution with my normal computer (ati 9200) and it worked.
Where is the problem?! Why can't my laptop sense the tv when my other computer can?

btw I also tried without the scart and plugged the yellow straight into the tv (my girlfriends tv has those RCA connections.. but did not work either)

I have tried with lots of diffrent drivers and tried to reboot.. It feels like I have done everything.

Any ideas?! i'm desperate!!
