Acer w/ M9 problem
Hi! I have a problem with my Acer Aspire P4 2600mhz, 512DDR and a Mobility radeon 9000. With the original drivers I can see videos ( like DIVX or all formats), but these drivers are from the year 2003 or less, so in many games I play very bad (sorry for my english
). When I try the Omegas, DNA, and other modified drivers the games are good, but THE COMPUTER HANGS UP WHEN I PUT ANY VIDEO. ALWAYS !!!! ¿¿WHYY????I've been trying all the versions of the omegas for 1 year and there's the same problem in all of them (from the oldest ones to the newest ones 5.9). I'm gonna be crazy and throw the laptop from my window room 'cause these brand of computer is a s**t, and when I ring to AcerSuport they say that the problem is from ATI. THANKS FOR ALL, ANY HELP WILL BE WELL-RECEIVED !! |

Before you throw your notebook out, I'd try this. I personally am not a fan of modded drivers, I believe ATI releases their drivers in their current states for a reason. If they could be modded to be better, I'm sure they would do so. Anyways, I would download the latest catalyst, not the mobility, the regular one since the 9000 isn't supported by the mobility. Download drivercleaner and mobility modder from DH. Uninstall your drivers and any modded software like Ati Tray Tools (that tool never failed to screw up my driver settings, to the point a complete reinstall of windows was the only fix) or radlinker or whatever else. Then go into safe mode and run the driver cleaner. You'll see there are multiple ati options to use to uninstall, use whatever you need. Then run the new catalyst, when it tries to install, say no. Run the mod tool and then install. It might be easier to use the ati install after you mod it rather than letting the mod tool to install. You'll see what I mean. Good luck to you. Remember, my dislike of mod tools and modded drivers are my opinion and just based on my own experience.

I'd try useing some codec packs, try useing another video player.
Make suure you have all your windows updates as wel as the media player updates. The problem is your laptop MFG is supposed to provide you with the updated drivers from ati with the specfic settings for you laptop. tecnically ATI isn't allowed by agreement. But they are working to change this arragement... They can blame ATI all they want but the falt is thiers.
