x600 issue with dell 2405 FSW

I just bought a dell 24" lcd monitor. I have an HP pavillion notebook ( ZD8080 ) with an ati x600 graphic card. Unfortunately the notebook doesnt have a DVI monitor out, only VGA, so thats how i am connecting it to the dell lcd monitor. I do get full native resolution (1920x1200) but it has some pixel flickering (specially against a black BG). Does anyone know what this could be?

I am pretty sure its not the driver cause i can see the issue as soon as i turn on the computer (even before windows starts). And its not the cable cause i tested it with my dell desktop and it works just fine.

Please help!!!
