Help with the ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 Please.
I hope this isnt something that has been answered many times and I just cant find it. If it is I am so sorry!
I need a current catalyst driver for my lap top. I have tried the Omega Driver Pack, and the Modbot and neither of those work. When I install the Omega Pack the screen starts flickering and when I try to run a game the whole screen falshes red and yellow. The Modbot, says that it can not find the correct files. I am ready to pull my hair out because I have spent a fortune on The Sims 2 games and expansions and cant get the game to run without locking up. EA Games says that I need a current video driver. I have searched ATI's site and I find their site impossible to know anything about. I have an IBM Think Pad T40 Intel Pentium Processor 1.5 Windows XP Home ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 32.0 MB Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am ready to throw this computer out the window lol Edit: Thread merged with later thread for clarity... I need a current catalyst driver for the ATI Mobility Radeon 7500.
I have tried the Modbot, and the Omega drivers Pack. Neither of those work. The Modbot says can not fiind files, the Omega pack causes my screen to flicker and when loading or trying to play games the screen flashes red and yellow. I am so sorry if this same issue has been answered before, I have looked and cant seem to find any other answers other than the modbot and omega. I have also tried ATI's site. I find their site confusing and impossible to help me. I find catalyst drivers there but have no clue which driver goes with my card. The driver I have installed currently is the one that IBM has in their updates. But as I am finding out it does not have the catalyst needed to play the games I am wanting to play. My system: IBM ThinkPad T40 Intel Pentium Processor 1.5 256 MB RAM ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 32MB Windows XP Home DirectX 9.0c Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

You should be able to use the Omegadrive driverset 4.12, possibly modded with the DH Mobility Modder - both are available from www.driverheavendownloads.net. The modder program is available as a link on that page in the top paragraph (ATI Mobility Modder...), and the Omegadrive driverset is available after clicking on the Omegadrivers icon.
Be sure to remove any ATI card video driver programs using the Add/Remove Programs control panel, and then use the DriverCleaner as per instructions to remove references to the driver and/or ATI driver Control Panel from the registry before you install the Omegadrive set and use the Mobility Modder. Read all the instructions and follow them carefully and you should be ok...

make sure you do a full uninstall of any previous ati drivers, the instructions are usually included with DriverCleaner in the Omega package. Do a restore point first, just in case. Omega drivers usually already include mobility chipsets and don't need to be modded, but 4.12 is kinda old so swimie may be right... check the inf file.
