Sad Mobility 9000 & Quake 4

I get through with the install with no issues. I get to the opening screen no problems. I choose "PLAY" and the screen flashes as if it will begin, then it crashes to desktop. I have tried the latest Omega drivers, The latest HP drivers, and the older HP drivers that I used with CS Source, WOW, EQII, EQ, Battlefront, BF-vietnam, etc. I don't know what else to do. Anyone?

My system

HP Pavilion zv5240us
Intel pentium 4 3.0 HT
1.25 GB RAM (1.12 without the allocated video memory)
ATI Radeon Mobility 9000 128MB
SondMAX Integrated Digital Audio

Thanks for any help. I will try ANYTHING at this point.

Curious, can you play Doom3 with your specs, I would be surprised if you could, don't know why you bought quake 4. That was made to use the current video cards, not sure if I would even try on mine a 9600 pro, but whatever. Good luck to you. Try using NGO's drivers, ngohq.com.

My mobility radeon 9000 can play Half-life 2 @ 1280X800 @ 45fps+ @ full graphics.

Don't knock it. Still hanging in there.

Quake 4 though has a problem though on my mobility 9000. 17-22fps. Unplayable.
But your extra vid ram sidelt could help out. Just an idea..Windows compatibilty settings.

and? Mine will run that @ 90-120+
its all about how small you make the screen :P
Doesnt mean that Q4 will run well on it, like running XP on a 386

System Specs

Quake 4 is unplayable with a MR9000, I tried it last night (just for fun). Everything looked green, textures were completely flat and it ran at 15fps. If you look att he box for the game, it shows that the older supported card is the 9600. I ran doom3 as well, and can run HL2 very well, but not Quake, sorry.

What are your specs? My MR9000 can only pull off ~20 on high at 1280x800, and 30 at 1024x768 on medium/high. Also what version of drivers? This would be very much appreciated ^^.
