Omega installed, All Games crash. HELP Please

First sorry for my english.

I've a notebook ACER Ferrari 3200 (AMD Ath64, ATI mob radeon 9700)
I installed the omega drivers cause the original was very old.
The installation run correctly.
But when i start my preferred games (CSS and Quake 4) nothing work. The monitor is completely BLACK, i hear the sounds but i can't see nothing.

So i decided to uninstall the omega and try to put the original drivers (that was running on every game) but the installation program (ATI) say me that is impossible to install the drivers cause .INF file not found, impossible to locate graphics driver !! (but i'm installing it...)

What can i do??
Thank's in advance and sorry too much for the "english".

Uninstall and run Drivercleaner. Next, try and either reinstall the Omega's, or install the official Cats with the Mobility Modder.

Be sure to follow the direction when using the drivercleaner and post back if you dont get it working. Welcome to DH.

Done
i installed new catalyst 5.10 with the Mod Tool, following the istructions
(first i uninstall previous driver and run Drivercleaner)

But nothing change, the driver installation run correctly, and the drivers goes up correctly, but when i run my games the screen go black and there's no way.. i must shut off my notebook, how can i do?
there's no way to install the old original Acer ATI drivers?
i try that way too, but always the same answer: missing .inf file, could not locate display drivers.
Thanks

System Specs

1)Find the folder where the drivers are located (maybe C: ATI).
2) Get into device manager (right click on My Computer/ hardware tab/device manager)
3) Under display adapters, select your card by right clicking, select properties
4) Click "No, Not this time"
5)Click "INstall from specific location"
6) Click "Dont search..."
7) Click "Have Disk" and locate the folder and INF file for the drivers
that should get past the "file not found" problem, give it a shot.

Done
but no way.
the original driver cannot be installed (i think there's a missing file in the .inf driver file, something like atiogl1.dll) the other driver (different version of cat installed via the mod) runs well, since the resolution change. THE PROBLEM is the RESOLUTION CHANGING, also via the commands on the desktop (not only in games or other graphic application) every time the resolution change the monitor go BLACK and that's all, nothing to do....
Possible that's no solution for this?
I saw a similar tread, where i post the same quest, a lot of people have the same problem and nobody find a solution?
Thanks in advance

under the options tab in the control panel (or Control Center), see if you can find something about quick resolution feature. Turn it off (or on) and see if that fixes it. Also, under Displays, find your display and check to see if "Scale to panel size" is checked. You may also want to verify that the game is not trying to adjust the screen outside of your monitors capabilities (Refresh rate, resolution).

A workaround for this might be to adjust your computer to the resolution the game is going to be in, restarting (to apply the settings, hopefully without the black screen), and running the game.

Hey, my first post as well, and guess what

My Ferrari 3200 doesn't work either. I've tried the last 4 versions of the Omega drivers, and also the last version of the original Catalyst drivers.

I'm now using 2625a and those seem to work. They are a bit old but hey, at least they work.

Have any of you checked whether there are newer system drivers for the notebooks from ACER? Check for motherboard, chipset drivers. There may even be a newer BIOS for your boards. It's worth a shot.

But, if the older drivers work, if it were me, I'd go with what works.

Hello
I have the exact problemes you describe but during my efforts to make my games work again i notised the following:
When using winzip to extract the original driver zip-file with winzip it overwrites some files. Use WinRar instead (you can ge it from download.com) the missing files should not be a probleme no more.

Now I´m going to follow Vikingod instructions.
I´ll get back here with the result.

Unfortunatly nothing in this thread helped me but there is a solution for all of us mobillity users and all your problemes ges away due to the information posted in the thread "ATI Mobility feed back"

Just click it and you get whatever the latest mobile catalyst release is at the time.

The link to download doesn't change: http://ati.amd.com/online/mobilecatalyst/

Thank you Stephen M. Smit, I kiss the ground you walking!!!!!!

Best Regards
Peder
