Mobility Radeon 9200 OpenGL issue
I'm trying to run Counter Strike 1.6 in OpenGL mode, but mid-play the game will randomly crash. I can run it in D3D with no problems, but then I get fps drops from a normal 80-100 to about 30. When I run the game in OpenGL, the fps never drops below 70. I'm currently running drivers supplied by my computer manufacturer, realease in June of this year. I just tried modding the catalyst 5.10 drivers with your utility, but I get the error message: "INF error Video Driver not found." followed by the second error message: "Setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to set up your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running the setup."
Specs: P4 3.06Ghz processor, 512MB RAM, Mobility Radeon 9200, Windows XP SP2 I've had the game run in OpenGL for an hour before it froze, so it's not an immediate thing. Thanks for any help. |

I installed the Omega Drivers instead and now I have a different problem. When I run in OpenGL, the game still freezes randomly. Now when I run it in Direct3D, the game sets my monitor resolution too low, so I only see about half of the game screen . . .

Try changing the in-game resolution to a different resolution, then back again. Seeing half the screen is not really a resolution problem per se...
You could also try changing your desktop resolution to the resolution you want to use in the game and see what that does - might give us some clues... Third, you could try uninstalling the ATT and seeing what effect that has...

I still have the same problem if I change my desktop resolution to the in-game resolution. I also tried changing the in-game resolution in D3D, but no help. Explain what you mean by uninstalling the ATT.

ATT = Ati Tray Tools - the tweaking application included with the past couple versions of the Omegadrive driverset.

Just to make sure - when you are modding the drivers, have you select a proper card (9200 Mobility) from the DH MOdTool dropdown menu? Just to make sure you did not select "Mobility Radeon" or something like that.
Crashes may be related to changes in OpenGL - you may want to go back to older drivers, which seem to have ran CS 1.6 much better than new ones.

The DH Modder tool doesn't support the Mobility 9200. I uninstalled the previously mentioned Omega drivers and installed the Omega version of catalyst 5.10 without the tray tool and the game is fitting the screen again. I still can't run OpenGL without my comp randomly freezing, and now I get pretty much constant 50-60fps with D3D, as opposed to a constant 100fps with OpenGL.
